The Golden Ball Tavern Museum’s pilot fifth-grade distance learning program, Tea and Tories, Protest and Patriots: Isaac Jones and the Golden Ball Tavern during the American Revolution, focuses on Isaac Jones’s changing loyalties during the American Revolution and asks students to consider if the Patriot/Loyalist divide was as defined as it seems.

The program begins with a synchronous virtual session with Golden Ball Tavern Museum staff that introduces the students to the tavern and Jones family. This session helps to frame the tavern’s significance in the events leading up to the American Revolution.

The program continues with an educational narrative that is complemented by accompanying learning activities to engage students. The teacher’s guide for the program includes links to supplemental videos should the instructor desire additional resources.
